ludic ecology
Before launching any package the team at The Outsiders Play Advocates recommend engaging in our thorough play space consult to map a path forward. This consult and resulting report factors in much more than traditional fixed play spaces as commonly perceived by adults (although it does not exclude these). We will unpack the various ludic elements of the space you work within analyzing spatial pros and cons, liminal aspects and missed opportunities.
Play Practice
To support an ongoing program and ensure sustainable changes to play and play facilitation are made we will detail critical elements of practice as they pertain to space. These will include consideration to how spaces are currently used, the psychogeography of space, the goals, hopes and aspirations of an ongoing project and the best foundation stones of practice to support.
Stakeholders
In our preliminary meeting we ascertain stakeholder support and stakeholder barriers. Most play projects undertaken have not factored in one or the other of these and it is ideal to know from the onset. Stakeholder engagement is critical to the success of bold play initiatives and actively planning for this at inception stage is highly advantageous.
Report
In summary of our Play Space Consultancy we will provide a comprehensive report detailing not only our views and recommendations of the sites ludic potential (and possibly ludic limitations) but also a suggested plan and package moving forward. Through this process we are able to sure the package is specific to your needs and not off the shelf PD and support. Please contact The Outsiders if you would like to engage in this process.
