The Brisbane Powerhouse
The Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland’s home of contemporary culture and art. A magnificent power station of the 1920s reborn as an arts centre on the Brisbane River (Maiwar). It is this conversion, this consideration of design, community and the arts, that ensured The Brisbane Powerhouse was out first pick as a venue for this event.

Poster Presentations
As well as a lineup of amazing speakers, Planning For Play will also include some amazing poster presentations. The theme for the presentations is “Removing Barriers to Play”. Each presenter has been involved in a unique initiative to remove a specific barrier for play for children. From individual Kindergartens, to entire cities, these gatekeepers used their power for the benefit of the children.
what to expect
Expect the unexpected! Expect to challenged, to learn, to think, to unlearn! Expect to be inspired, to network and find grounding in innate understandings.
This is the Planning For Play event’s inaugural inception and we plan for and hope that the conversations it encourages grow, and roll over to next years event!
